Establish the nature, cause and location of the failure
Install electromechanical, analog and digital connection systems, circuits and equipment in telephone exchanges and switching centers
Use computerized test systems to perform service tests on subscriber lines and equipment
Connect, disconnect and relocate jacks
Install cable modems and Internet access software
Maintain and repair overhead and underground cable distribution lines
Repair or replace cables, power supply equipment and defective amplifiers
