Work Environment Outdoor Beef cattle ranching, including feedlot operation Workplace Various work locations Responsibilities Tasks Interpret plans, maps, drawings and specifications to anticipate methods or sequences of operations Operate heavy equipment Read plans, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements Clean and lubricate machines and fill machine reservoirs Measure distance, volume, length and weight Operate computer-controlled equipment Understand the purpose, appropriate use and information contained in safety data sheets (SDS) Record information in logbooks and other registers Perform pre-use inspections of machines Write accident reports Attach special work tools to machines Use a global positioning system (GPS) and other navigation equipment Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment Perform minor repairs to machines Operate hydraulic pumping systems Credentials Credentials (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.) Driver's license (Class 1 or A) Experience and Specialization Types of heavy equipment operated Backhoe, loader Work experience field Backfilling Ditch digging Excavation Finish grading Land clearing Landscaping Preliminary earthwork Compacting Sloping and raising Snow removal Stockpiling Formwork removal Basement excavation Basement compacting Trench digging Industrial experience Agricultural industry Additional Information Working conditions and physical abilities Physically demanding Attention to detail Fast-paced work environment Benefits Other benefits Other benefits
