Responsibilities Tasks Interpret plans, maps, drawings and specifications to foresee methods or sequences of operations Operate heavy equipment Read plans, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements Clean and lubricate machinery and fill machine tanks Measure distance, volume, length and weight Operate computer-controlled equipment Understand the purpose, appropriate use and information contained in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Record information in logbooks and other registers Perform pre-operation machinery checks Write accident reports Attach special work tools to machines Use a Global Positioning System (GPS) and other navigation equipment Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment Perform minor machinery repairs Operate hydraulic pumping systems
Qualifications Credentials (certificates, permits, affiliations, courses, etc.) Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
