# Responsibilities Tasks
Plan or modify routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) or other navigation devices to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions
Load and unload cargo
Operate trucks or articulated combinations to transport goods or materials
Monitor vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, refrigerated storage equipment and other equipment
Adjust brakes
Perform emergency repairs on the road
Inspect trucks before, during and after trips and monitor all aspects of vehicles
Receive and transmit information to central dispatcher
Record information on cargo, service hours, distances traveled and fuel consumption
Tarp and ensure cargo safety and security

Category AZ driver's license
Authorization to operate air brake systems
Category 1/1F/A license (semi-trailers)
