Responsibilities Tasks Load, unload and transport construction materials Operate mobile cranes and tower cranes to lift, move and position equipment and materials Perform pre-operational inspection Clean and lubricate cranes Assemble and disassemble concrete formwork, scaffolding, access ramps, shoring walkways and barriers Operate pile drivers to drive piles into the ground to support buildings and other structures Train apprentices in the trade Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt Assemble mobile cranes on site Assist the coroner in charge Assist in aligning pipes during the construction of pipelines or gas pipelines Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites Assist in erecting house framing, raising walls and building roofs Operate drilling platform cranes to unload and reload supply ships Level earth according to fine grading specifications Apply and scrape asphalt Assist in demolition work on buildings Remove rubble and other debris on construction sites
