Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of highway transport truck systems Confirm results with supervisor to determine whether the unit needs to be repaired or replaced Discuss work with supervisor Check and test mechanical elements to locate defects and imperfections Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions Examine work instructions Test automotive systems and components Adjust, repair or replace defective parts or elements of various vehicle systems Repair or replace mechanical elements or components Test repaired systems and adjust them according to manufacturer specifications Estimate the cost of parts and labor for vehicle maintenance and repair Perform periodic maintenance operations Test and adjust elements according to specifications Discuss with customers the operations performed and repairs that will need to be done in the future Complete reports to record defects and work performed Supervisor Functions and Activities Automotive Technicians and Automotive Vehicle Repairers
