Responsibilities Tasks Verify formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials Direct placement of concrete in formwork or on surfaces in accordance with slope Eliminate voids and bumps and spread freshly poured concrete evenly Prepare quotes and price proposals Use automatic compressors to compact and level concrete layers Level concrete surface according to slope and depth specifications Work at heights or on scaffolding Use manual or mechanical tools to work concrete and achieve desired finish Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door thresholds and other accessories Apply hardening and sealing products to protect surfaces Waterproof, seal and restore surfaces Repair, redo or replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures Operate computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) systems and other computer systems Read and interpret plans, maps, drawings and specifications
