# ROOFING WORKER JOB DESCRIPTION

**Responsibilities**
**Tasks**
- Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt-saturated felts, hot asphalt and gravel
- Lay or replace asphalt, wood and split shingles and tiles in earthen products or terracotta on sloped roof building coverings
- Lay tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
- Install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomers or other asphaltic compositions
- Repair or replace shingles on sloped roofs of buildings
- Repair or replace a single-ply roofing system
- Repair roofing systems
- Apply waterproofing coatings on concrete and other masonry surfaces below or above ground level
- Install and repair metal roofs using hand and mechanical tools
- Lay metal gutters
- Assemble scaffolding and other work platforms

**Required Qualifications**
**Credentials** (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.)
- Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- Certificate in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
