Responsibilities Tasks Read plans, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements Prepare layouts, using measuring tools, while considering building code requirements Measure, cut, shape and assemble elements in wood, particleboard, light steel or other materials Erect foundations, install floor beams, lay flooring underlayment, assemble pre-fabricated framing and roofing elements Adjust and install windows, doors, stairs and hardware Estimate costs and materials
