Responsibilities Tasks Interpret welding instructions Use fully automated manual or semi-automatic welding equipment Read and interpret plans, welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals and procedures Examine welds and ensure they meet standards and specifications Use manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment Adjust metal pieces, straighten them with a torch and braze them Determine the weldability of materials Use lifting devices Operate welding machines with adjustable controls to fabricate or repair metal components Participate in the maintenance and repair of welding and brazing machines
